An Optimal Path Management Strategy in Mobile Ad Hoc Network Using Fuzzy and Rough Set Theory

Abstract: Problem statement: Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) is a collection of wireless mobile nodes that dynamically forms a network. Most of the existing ad-hoc routing algorithms select the shortest path using various resources. However the selected path may not consider all the network parameters and this would result in link instability in the network. The problems with existing methods are frequent route change with respect to change in topology, congestion as result of traffic and battery limitations since it's an… Show more

“…Finally, they presented the evaluation result. Seethalakshmi, et al (2011), selected the qualified path which was based on the power consumption in the node, the number of inter nodes and the traffic load in the network. For calculating the path vector and to remove the irrelevant attributes for evaluating the best routing the simple rules were generated using the fuzzy and rough set techniques.…”

“…Since many uncertainties in the value of the factors, the evaluation algorithm of key factors is designed based on fuzzy set after factors reduction. We can gain relatively precise evaluation results if the fuzzy-rough algorithm is well designed [1].…”
