Abstract:The authors experimentally demonstrate an optoelectronic oscillator based on a dual-wavelength fiber ring laser with an inline specially designed fiber-Bragg-grating-based Fabry-Perot filter. An erbiumdoped fiber amplifier initiates the process as a broadband light source while a second optical amplifier provides additional gain to increase the cavity power. By exploiting the two-wavelength beating, a 10.3 GHz microwave carrier with 3-dB linewidth of <200 Hz was generated with 77 dB signal-to-noise ratio. Phas… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
