An overview of constipation management for community nurses

Abstract: Constipation is thought to affect nearly one-fifth of the population, and can arise for a multitude of reasons, some physical, some psychological. Nurses must therefore approach constipation in the awareness of the range of contributory factors and consequently the range of treatment options available.
