An overview of HIFEM technology in body contouring

Abstract: Background This review comprises a technology overview, clinical background, and applications of high-intensity focused electromagnetic technology (HIFEM). Methods The physiology, mechanism of action, and dynamics of HIFEM will be discussed and its action on muscle fibers and fat elucidated. Results Clinical applications, body areas treated, and treatment parameters will be reviewed. Conclusion Efficacy and safety results from multiple studies will be included.
