Again, Social Casework encouraged and honored me by publishing my critique of psychoanalytic theory regarding female sexuality (Loewenstein, 1978), a second critique regarding psychoanalytic emphasis on inner space (Loewenstein,l979), and, years later, some articles on Freud's metapsychology (Loewenstein, 1985;Freud, l998). These are presumed to be scholarly articles, but these papers, along with others I would write later (e.g., on feminist issues or, more recently, on normality and identity) have been written with passion and conviction, my attempt to counter prevailing opinions with convincing arguments.…”
