Abstract: A hepatic abscess is the collection of suppurative matter within the parenchyma of the liver. While most pyogenic liver abscesses (PLAs) are polymicrobial in nature, some rare cases are caused by methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
