Abstract: Access to water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) services is closely linked to public health. The benefits of having safe WASH are vast. The WHO/UNICEF Joint Monitoring Program (JMP) estimates of the population accessing different levels of WASH services are, by definition, constant sum; they are therefore compositional data.
