Influence of the technological level on the productivity and competitiveness of beekeepers in Cundinamarca.With the objective of evaluating the influence of the technological level on the productivity and competitiveness of beekeepers in the department of Cundinamarca, this research reviews the concepts of technology, productivity, and business competitiveness. Then, the situation of beekeeping in the international and national context in the honey and pollen agribusiness is presented and supported with an analysis of trends in research and technological development regarding technologies focused on productivity improvement.Sections of the case study methodology were adapted, and a survey was conducted with 16 members of the Association of Environmental Beekeepers, located in Cundinamarca.The data obtained were processed through a principal component analysis to obtain the most representative variables and assign a technological level to the beekeepers.Subsequently, the technological level and the indicators of productivity and business competitiveness of the beekeepers were contrasted.Among the results, it is worth mentioning that the qualitative analysis found a positive influence between technological level and productivity and competitiveness, although the quantitative analysis did not detect a strong relationship between these variables.From this research it is concluded that the technological level was rated between insufficient and acceptable in the evaluated beekeepers. It was found that the aspects to be improved are in soft technologies. Technological level indicators were also established for the beekeepers of the association studied, and based on this, alternatives were proposed for improving productivity and competitiveness based on the technological level.
