Analisis Distribusi Tegangan pada Sambungan Las Dissimilar antara ASTM A36 Steel dan AISI 304 dengan Solidworks

Abstract

Simulation in the welding process is needed in today's technological era, this is to speed up the process and also reduce losses caused by failures in the welding process. Currently, there are many software that can be used to perform welding analysis. One of the familiar software used for welding simulations is Solidworks. This study aims to analyze the stress distribution and analyze the value of safety or the factor of safety in the dissimilar weld joint between ASTM A36 Steel and AISI 304 with the type of butt joint. The magnitude of the tensile force used for the simulation process is 10,000 N, 11,000 N, 12,000 N, and 13,000 N. Based on the simulation results of Solidworks on the dissimilar weld joint between ASTM A36 Steel and AISI 304, the results show that the tensile force of 10,000 N has not been able to break the connection. Meanwhile, the tensile strength of 11,000 N to 13,000 N was able to break the dissimilar weld joint, but the fracture was in the ASTM A36 Steel specimen. The simulation results of the factor of safety (FOS) or thedissimilar welded joints’ safety value show that all FOS values are low, namely between 0.3 to 0.4. Where this low value indicates that the analyzed weld joint is unsafe at a force load of 10,000 N to 13,000 N.
