The security level of the SIM MBKM website information system needs to be analyzed because it is accessed by many students who provide essential data. The security testing process for the SIM MBKM system uses the software Ettercap and Wireshark to test the system's security level and network data against cybercrime attacks. The results of these experiments showed the same essential data, but Wireshark displayed more personal information. The difference lies in the system architecture using different methods or stages, namely ARP Poisoning and Filtering HTTP. The third difference is the estimated time taken during the experiment. Ettercap and Wireshark applications enable eavesdropping on confidential and essential data and information. Through security testing using Ettercap and Wireshark, more critical data is displayed. solutions and preventive actions can be implemented by encrypting confidential data and improving website security using the HTTPS (Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure) protocol.

Saat ini layaan internet sudah menjadi kebutuhan utama ditengah-tengah masyarakat, hal ini disebabkan semua urusan sudah berbasis layanan digital (online). Bahkan, layanan internet tidak lagi sekedar penyampaian informasi tetapi dimanfaatkan sebagai sarana hiburan dan bersosialisasi di platform Social Networking Services (SNS). Pemerintah maupun swasta berlomba membangun infrastruktur semisal adanya akses Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi) publik pada beberapa fasilitas umum sehingga akses internet dapat dinikmati oleh masyarakat, dimanapun dan kapanpun. Faktanya, kemajuan tersebut terkadang tidak sejalan dengan regulasi pemerintah membatasi bahkan memblokir beberapa website domestik maupun global dengan Firewall Pemerintah. Disisi lain, mudahnya mendapatkan layanan internet gratis melalui Wi-Fi Publik tersebut dimanfaatkan oleh orang yang tidak berwenang untuk kemudian mencuri data pribadi dengan melakukan pelacakan terhadap alamat IP, melihat identitas pengguna dan sebagainya, sehingga aktivitas internet yang seharusnya menjadi sebuah privasi tidak lagi menjadi aman. Ataupun terhadap transmisi data yang dapat disadap dengan mudah tanpa adanya enkripsi. Untuk itu, pemilihan solusi yang tepat terhadap persoalan ini menjadi pembahasan penulis dari artikel ini, yaitu diperlukan sebuah langkah optimalisasi VPN Gate Client pada Wi-Fi publik untuk keamanan transmisi data dan akses internet.

The use of the internet on computer network devices in the current technological era certainly very easy for us in daily life to work and other activities in cyberspace. There are so many places to eat or other public places that use computer network devices, namely wifi so that visitors feel at home or feel happy because they have the facilities that are needed by them, namely the internet. However, it is undeniable that there are public wifi devices that have a negative impact because they are free. One solution to prevent internet network users from using negatively charged public wifi can be done by understanding what steps must be taken before and after accessing public wifi. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to provide understanding and learning to ordinary people in Indonesia to minimize or rather eradicate the use of the internet network on public wifi which has a negative impact in public spaces. In realizing the above, the author uses the method of taking 30 journal papers that have been published through Google Scholar with a range of years between 2018 and 2022 to be researched and analyzed using the SLR (Systematic Literature Review) method. SLR is a systematic method used to review a topic in the form of a journal paper to provide opinions on solving problems. Based on this research, it was found that public wifi in computer network learning can improve the problem-solving ability of ordinary users. Based on the literature review conducted, the level of understanding of ordinary people in Indonesia can be developed by learning computer networks on social media and in articles on the internet.
