Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui profil kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMP dalam pembelajaran IPA. Jenis penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif kuantitatif dengan teknik purposive sampling dengan matakuliah dalam penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas VII di SMP Negeri 1 Juwangi. Hasil penelitian adalah bahwa setiap indikator keterampilan berpikir kritis memiliki hasil yang berbeda. Indikator interpreting memiliki nilai 67,96 termasuk kategori yang cukup, indikator analisis memiliki nilai 47,65 milik kategori rendah, indikator evaluasi memiliki nilai 66,40 termasuk dalam kategori yang cukup, indikator menyimpulkan memiliki nilai 53,12 termasuk dalam kategori rendah, dan indikator explaining memiliki nilai 48,43 termasuk dalam kategori rendah. rata-rata keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik termasuk dalam kategori rendah dengan skor 56,57. Rendahnya keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa disebabkan ketika proses pembelajaran masih konvensional sehingga hanya berpusat pada guru dan juga kegiatan pembelajaran yang tidak optimal yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, diharapkan para peneliti kemudian dapat mengembangkan alat pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dalam pembelajaran IPA di SMP.

The ability to think rationally is the ability that a person has based on real events so that he is able to solve problems with a reasonable mindset that can be accepted by reason. The STEM approach is an approach that combines four fields of science, namely Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics which is interesting to apply in science learning, which is able to provide experience and lead to career fields. This study aims to determine the students' rational thinking skills towards the career perspective of the STEM field. The research method used is a qualitative method with the type or design of naturalistic research. Data were collected by observation, documentation and in-depth interviews (In Depth Interview) which were conducted on 7 selected informants. The data that has been obtained is then analyzed using the Miles & Huberman model which consists of three stages, namely 1) Data Reduction 2) Data Presentation 3) And Drawing Conclusions, research analysis is assisted by Nvivo12 Software for the coding process to determine the category of rational thinking skills and answers that according to the interview. Based on the results of data analysis shows that students have a tendency to be creative in processing a product with the ability to imagine and the ability to imagine that applies the ability to imagine and imagine. Students have a tendency to have a career in the fields of Science, Engineering and Technology so that students have the desire to have a career in the biotechnoplaner field.

This research aims to analyze the critical thinking abilities of MAN 1 Bone students in ethnoscience-based biology learning in the era of digitalization. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The data processed are the results of student's critical thinking ability tests, observations and interviews with biology subject teachers and students with the highest test scores, three representatives from each class X.1, X.2 and X.5. The research results showed that student's critical thinking abilities based on the results of critical thinking ability tests in ethnoscience-based biology learning with ecosystem subjects for the even semester of the 2022-2023 academic year were in a very low category. Meanwhile, from learning activities, student's abilities are at varying levels based on critical thinking indicators. The indicator of providing further statements or explanations is at a fairly good level for the results of critical thinking ability tests and student learning activities. The indicators of providing basic statements or explanations, providing reasons for a decision, drawing conclusions or inferences, and providing feedback & reinforcement are at a level that is not good for critical thinking ability tests, while student learning activities are at a fairly good level. The results of this study indicate that it is important to increase student's mastery and understanding by integrating ethnoscience in learning so that they have critical thinking skills amidst the trend in the use of information technology.
