Analisis Sifat Fisika Tanah Gambut Pada Hutan Gambut Di Kecamatan Tambang Kabupaten Kampar Provinsi Riau

Abstract: The research was conducted on January to April 2013 in the secondary forest Kualu Nenas Village, Tambang District, Kampar Regency, Riau Province. This study was done by observation and survey on 0-50 cm, 50-100 cm, and 100-150 cm of land depth to analysis peat thickness, depth of water table, the colour of peat, peat maturity, bulk dencity, and water content. Results showed that the peat was have more than 6 m depth. Thickness of water table average was 30.75 cm, soil colour black ground colour reddish, very d… Show more

“…Peat soil has a relatively very high water holding capacity based on the dry weight. Maximum water holding capacity for fibric type is 580-3000%, hemic type of 450-850%, and sapric type is < 450%, respectively (Susandi et al 2015). Based on the field test, peat decomposition type in the study area is sapric, which is the most decomposed peat as the origin peat is unrecognized, dark brown to black in color, and fiber content < 15% if squeezed.…”

“…Each point in the peat depth has different fiber content, but if it is the same depth with different points, it may have almost the same fiber content and peat maturity. According to Susandi et al (2015), peat is categorized as fibric if the V2/V1>66%, hemic if the V2/V1 between 33% to 66%, and sapric if the V2/V1<33%. The results of the analysis in Table 5, Table 6, and Table 7 show that there are changes in each plot for three months.…”
