Analog Gross Fault Identification in RF Circuits Using Neural Models and Constrained Parameter Extraction

Abstract: The demand and relevance of efficient analog fault diagnosis methods for modern RF and microwave integrated circuits increases with the growing need and complexity of analog and mixed-signal circuitry. The well-established digital fault diagnosis methods are insufficient for analog circuitry due to the intrinsic complexity in analog faults and their corresponding identification process. In this work, we present an artificial neural network (ANN) modeling approach to efficiently emulate the injection of analog … Show more

“…This method can effectively predict the optimal parameters of a tunable matching network and select the range of adaptive transmitting coils. Viveros-Wacher et al [121] have applied an analog gross fault diagnosis method based on ANNs and constrained parameter extraction to analog fault diagnosis. Wei et al [213] have introduced self-attention bidirectional LSTM (Bi-LSTM) networks for radar signal modulation recognition.…”

“…Roy et al [12] proposed a way that used a configurable filter structure to test the circuits by Nyquist shape of transfer function, but it must develop a data base with the paramenters of the Nyquist Shape. The work in [13] has proposed a new method that used three layer perceptron to model the effects of injecting gross faults to the circuit, but we need prepare a great number of data for the ANN. Tadeusiewicz and Ossowski [14] based on the linear time-invariant analog electronic circuits proposed a model to multiple soft diagnosis, but the method is limited to linear dynamic circuits.…”
