Analysis and Design of the Electronic Toll Collection System of Expressway Based on RFID

Abstract: In order to speed up the vehicles through the expressway toll station and reduce traffic congestion, we analysed of the No-waiting ETC(Electronic Toll Collection System) of expressway unifying the ETC theory and the RFID(Radio Frequency Identification Devices) technology. Firstly, we analysed system's hierarchy architecture, then detailed analysed the basic component of system, and designed the workflow and composing of functional modules, finally, established the model of ETC system of expressway based on RFI… Show more

“…Additionally, the simple network management protocol (SNMP) is widely adopted for remote monitoring of RFID readers and toll stations within the ETCS, thanks to its user‐friendliness and versatility [43]. Innovations, such as the nRF9E5 radio frequency chip, cater to the need for affordability, compactness, and reliability in the establishment of an ETCS [44], while the integration of RFID and GSM modules underpins the conceptualization of automated toll plaza systems (ATPS) managed by microcontroller‐driven database control modules [23, 25].…”
