Analysis and Detection Method for Machining Error of Globoidal Indexing Cam Profile

Abstract: The profile of globoidal indexing cam is spatial undevelopable surface. It needs special CNC machine tool to finish batch production. The machining quality of the profile of globoidal indexing cam could be affected by the movement error of each part of machine tool and the clamped positioning error of workpiece. Firstly, this paper analyses the systematic error of the special machine tool of globoidal cam, derives the error transfer matrix, establishes the mathematical model of the globoidal cam profile which … Show more

“…When 0 ≪ θ ≪ α or 360 − α ≪ θ ≪ 360, the distance between the center of the probe and the center of rotation is calculated according to the formula given in (8), and the distance between the center of the probe and the center of rotation in other phase positions is r3.…”

“…If the phase angle error is too large, it will destroy the technical state of the engine [7]. In order to ensure the machining quality of the cam profile, it is necessary to develop high-precision and stable measuring and data processing methods [8][9][10].…”

“…Savio E et al compared the probe tip centre coordinate values with the points distributed on the offset surface, which are located within the probe tip radius distance on the normal vector direction of the theoretical model [13]. Sun S et al corrected the theoretical model of the cam and constructed an equidistant model, the probe tip centre is kept within the axial section when measuring the profile [14]. Zhu Z et al offsets the blade cross-section curve by a probe radius in the direction of the normal vector of the curve in cross-section curve measurement [15].…”
