Analysis and optimization of a five-phase hybrid excitation flux switching machine based on the consistency and complementarity principle

Abstract: In this study, the general optimal stator poles/rotor teeth (P/T) combination equation of the E-core hybrid excitation flux switching (HEFS) machines are introduced, and a new HEFS machine is proposed and optimized. Firstly, the influences of three different P/T combinations (10/18, 10/19, and 10/21) on the HEFS machines are investigated with two-dimensional (2D) finite element analyses (2D-FEA). Meanwhile, the consistency and complementarity principle of the armature windings is analyzed in detail to give rea… Show more

“…• Industrial Application and Field Testing: Once the performance and reliability of FSMs are validated through experiments, they can be deployed in real-world industrial applications. Field testing involves installing FSMs in their intended operating environments, such as electric vehicles [81], renewable energy systems [124], or industrial machinery [138]. Data is collected during realworld operation to evaluate performance, identify any operational challenges, and gather feedback for further optimization.…”

“…Recently, PM vernier machines (PMVMs) have been studied by researchers because of their high torque density, which makes them more suitable for direct-drive applications [4][5] . The reason why PMVMs can obtain high torque density is the "magnetic field modulation effects" that have been analyzed in details [6][7][8] .…”
