“…A review of the published work reveals that the majority of women present with features of viril-ization (50 to 85%), such as anovulation, oligomenorrhea, amenorrhea, facial hair growth, hoarseness of voice and enlargement of the clitoris. 8,9,11,12 Very rarely, these tumors can exhibit both androgenic and estrogenic function, 13,14 as occurred in one patient in our study who was diagnosed to have associated endometrial malignancy. At the time of initial presentation more that 95% of these tumors are generally confined to one ovary 1,9,10,15 and only about 2% are said to be bilateral; only five cases of bilateralism have been noted in the published work.…”
