“…The polyphenolic compound (tannins) level was estimated using the method described by Waniska et al (1992). The neurotoxin concentration (b-ODAP) was measured by the technique of capillary electrophoresis on the apparatus Spectra Phoresis 1000 following the protocol of Arentoft and Greirson (1995) with glass capillary 70 cm 9 35 lm, 200 mM phosphate buffer of pH 8.6, and voltage 25 kV, temperature 26.5-35°C and the wave length 195 nm.…”

“…The polyphenolic compound (tannins) level was estimated according to the method described by Waniska et al (1992). The content of neurotoxin (b-ODAP) was measured by the technique of capillary electrophoresis on the apparatus Spectra Phoresis 1000 following the protocol of Arentoft and Greirson (1995) with glass capillary 70 cm 9 35 um, 200 mM phosphate buffer of pH 8.6, and voltage 25 kV, temperature 26.5-35°C and the wave length 195 nm.…”

“…While HPLC methods require laborious procedures for the derivatisation step, capillary zone electrophoresis allows selective and rapid measurements. The first capillary electrophoretic method developed for the separation and determination of a and b-ODAP seems to belong to Arentoftt and Greirson (1995), who used 20 mM Na 2 HPO 4 (pH 7.8) as running buffer solution, applied a constant voltage of 25 kV and kept the column temperature at 40°C. Zhao et al (1999) preferred to use 1 mM Na 2 B 4 O 7 /5 mM Na 2 SO 4 mixture as run buffer solution, and used H 3 PO 4 for pH adjustment to 9.20.…”
