Analysis of absorption property for pumping laser with double cladding rare earth doped fiber

Abstract: In this paper, a pump laser absorption model for double cladding rare earth doped optical fiber is established by using the finite difference beam propagation method combined with complex refractive index profile, and the absorption properties are analyzed in detail for some typical inner cladding structures by using this model. The results can be used to design the double cladding rare earth doped optical fiber.
