Abstract:The anharmonic properties of silver, thallium, and copper halides are analysed by means of a new interionic potential model which incorporates the effects of the long-range Coulomb and threebody interactions and the short-range van der Waals (vdn') attraction and overlap repulsion extended up to the second-neighbour ions. The model potential is applied to investigate the thirdorder elastic constants and the pressure derivatives of second-order elastic constants of the crystals. Additively some thermodynamic an… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
