“…Conversely, rac ‐Flur showed antinociceptive effects dose dependent, this effect was mainly due to the activity of the enantiomer S (+)‐flurbiprofen, because when we compare the results of rac‐ Flur and R (‐)‐flurbiprofen, the latter did not show antinociceptive activity. These results are similar to previous reports in the literature, where it has been reported that the S (+)‐flurbiprofen is acting as an inhibitor of cyclooxigenase, while the R (‐)‐flurbiprofen have not antinociceptive effects at different doses [Malmberg and Yaksh, ; Carabaza et al, ; López‐Muñoz et al, ].…”

“…The antinociceptive effects of flurbiprofen are due to the S‐enantiomer [López‐Muñoz et al, ]. However, we are evaluating the racemic mixture, so to corroborate that the effects we are getting are due to the presence of the active enantiomer, we evaluate the effects of “ R ” enantiomer of flurbiprofen in this model, the results are shown in Figure , in which can be observed that R ‐flurbiprofen did not show antinociceptive effects in contrast with the effects obtained with the racemic mixture.…”
