Analysis of Bound-Soliton States in a Dual-Wavelength Mode-Locked Fiber Laser Based on Bi2Se 3

Abstract: Wavelength switchable and dual-wavelength soliton operations are demonstrated in an erbium-doped fiber laser with three pieces of TI Bi 2 Se 3 polyvinyl alcohol (Bi 2 Se 3 -PVA) film. Wavelength switchable operation from 1532 to 1557 nm could be achieved just by adjusting the pump power. With the appropriate settings of PC and pump power, a novel dual-wavelength soliton operation was observed. The dual-wavelength pulses operate at different mode-locked states. One is the single pulse mode-locking operation at … Show more

“…Since 2010, versatile soliton pulses, including conventional soliton, dark solitons, dissipative soliton, and even rogue waves, have been observed in mode‐locked fiber lasers based on layered materials such as graphene, topological insulators, TMDCs, and BP . For example, the researchers studied the dynamic of soliton pulses in graphene mode‐locked fiber lasers and obtained the disordered multiple solitons and bound solitons at low pump strength and soliton flow at higher pump strength, as shown in Figure a–d.…”

“…However, dual-wavelength soliton operation is not stable for long term. In the numerical results of his study, the interval change of bound pulse is very small, and the phase difference of bound pulse shows π jump change, so the study lacks practice [4]. Balboul et al's research involves preparing fiber-cement panels made from rice paper shells and old newspapers for prefabricated building panels and using two types of polymers as materials to make these panels.…”

“…[37] Later, another group has also demonstrated dual-wavelength soliton generation at 1532 and 1557 nm using a Bi 2 Se 3 -PVA filmbased SA. [38] Review of Harmonic Mode-Locking: To achieve higher repetition rate, harmonic modelocking (HML) has also been realized using TISA based modelocked fiber laser. First ever attempt to generate higher repetition rate by utilizing harmonic modelocking states was shown by Luo et al [39] where they achieved 2.04 GHz resulting from 418th harmonic of fundamental cavity frequency (4.88 MHz).…”
