Analysis of cadmium and lead using atomic absorption spectrophotometer in roadside soils of Jimma town

Abstract: Soil sample collection Soil samples was collected from four different site Mercato, Koch, Jimma hospital and Yetebaberut of the sample collect different distances from the road side to a depth of 0.0-5.0cm using a soil auger. The soil samples were keeping in a polythene bags and labeled to avoid a mix up of the different soil samples. Then it was bright to the laboratory and keeps in the air dried place prior to analysis for lead and cadmium. Soil sample preparation Unwanted materials such as stones, leaves an… Show more

“…Similar experimental procedure of AAS in determining the concentration of lead and cadmium was employed by Sisay et al (2019) in their study. They analyzed the cadmium and lead concentration from the soil samples collected from different site of Mercato, Koch, Jimma hospital and Yetebaberut in southwestern Ethiopia.…”

“…Soil samples were analyzed using FAAS to check the presence and quantity of lead and varying concentrations from 36.47 + 0.000243 to 43.42 + 0.000029 mg kg -1 of lead were observed for the samples collected from four different sites [49]. AAS is on the frontline in the heavy metal detection process due to peerless detection limits, great accuracy, simple operation, and unambiguity for elemental analysis.…”

“…Parameter yang diamati meliputi logam berat Pb, Cd, Cr, Ni, Co, Cu dan Zn. Metode analisa logam berat pada contoh beras dilakukan dengan menggunakan Atomic Absorbption Spectrophotometer (AAS) 27,28 dengan modifikasi pada volume contoh yang dianalisis, volume pemberian larutan asam nitrat pekat dan tahapan destruksi.…”
