Abstract:Flows in nanofluidic channels under the influence of pressure gradient often lead to the overlapping of the electrical double layers (EDLs) augmenting the electroviscous effect. In this work, we analyze the electroviscous effect for the flow of a micropolar fluid in a parallel plate nanochannel, considering EDL overlapping and interfacial slip. Closed-form expressions of EDL potential, velocity, microrotation, yielded streaming potential, and volumetric flow rate are derived semi-analytically for high zeta pot… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
