Analysis of Fuel Alternative Products Obtained by the Pyrolysis of Diverse Types of Plastic Materials Isolated from a Dumpsite Origin in Pakistan

Abstract: The current energy crisis and waste management problems have compelled people to find alternatives to conventional non-renewable fuels and utilize waste to recover energy. Pyrolysis of plastics, which make up a considerable portion of municipal and industrial waste, has emerged as a feasible resolution to both satisfy our energy needs and mitigate the issue of plastic waste. This study was therefore conducted to find a solution for plastic waste management problems, as well as to find an alternative to mitigat… Show more

“…An alternative to an incineration plant may be pyrolysis and waste gasification technology producing gas, the composition of which depends not only on the conditions of the process, but above all on the type of waste incinerated [12]. At present, the most problematic group of waste in terms of thermal conversion is plastic [13], rubber [14] and textile [14] waste. Spent railroad sleepers are also noteworthy, impregnated with creosote oil containing, among others, anthracene, fluorene, phenanthrene, benzo(a)anthracene and benzo(a)pyrene [15].…”
