Abstract:An electron probe microanalysis method was developed to mitigate alkali ion migration effects under low beam current density conditions with a time-saving mode to collect alkali-ion X-ray signals. The method is suitable for estimating H2O content in H2O-rich geological glasses as a substitute technique for SIMS and FTIR.
