“…As the inter-project knowledge transfer occurs between the source project and recipient project, the transfer is inevitably influenced by the project characteristics, which must be taken into consideration (Zhao et al, 2015). These characteristics mainly include uncertainty and ambiguity (Mehta et al, 2014), one-off characteristics of projects (Scarbrough et al, 2004), temporary (Ren et al, 2018;Sun et al, 2019), geographical distance (Wiewiora et al, 2009), similarity (Zhao et al, 2015;Ren et al, 2018) and urgency (Zhao et al, 2015;Ren et al, 2018;Sun et al, 2019). In these characteristics, similarity and urgency have been suggested as the important features influencing inter-project knowledge transfer (Zhao et al, 2015;Ren et al, 2018), which are taken as potential influencing factors in this study.…”

“…A no-blame culture is a supportive environment that encourages innovation amongst team members, because it enables them to speak up and share their ideas (Edmondson and Lei 2014). Therefore, a no-blame culture is a 'sharing culture', which is an important facilitator of knowledge transfer across construction project cooperation networks (Sun et al 2019). Finally, this study suggests that if project managers ignore the importance of no blame culture and collaborative teamwork within a cross functional design team, the impact of integrated project delivery methods will be severely compromised.…”

“…For example, Hallowell (2012) performed 11 case studies of general contractors in American construction organizations to investigate how safety knowledge management strategies were employed in construction safety. Additionally, several works explored how knowledge impacts safety behaviors (Guo et al 2016) and the safety climate or culture (Ni et al 2018), how knowledge-transfer mechanisms are performed (Sun et al 2019), how knowledge management benefits design and construction firms (Forcada et al 2013), etc.…”
