Abstract:Injection moulded short fibre-reinforced thermoplastics (SFRT) consist
of a layer structure of different fibre orientations. As a result, the
material’s stiffness and strength properties are highly anisotropic
across the part and through the thickness. This study investigates the
stress redistribution between layers with transverse and parallel fibre
orientation caused by fatigue loading. For the analysis, fatigue data
obtained from homogeneous highly oriented specimens are used to avoid
layer interactions. Th… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
