Analysis of low‐frequency polarisation behaviour for oil‐paper insulation using logarithmic‐derivative spectroscopy

Abstract: The low‐frequency polarisation information of oil‐paper insulation could be easily obscured by the conductance effect, and the contained polarisation information thus can not be readily extracted from the frequency domain spectroscopy (FDS). Given this issue, an alternative idea is reported to extract the low‐frequency polarisation information by using logarithmic‐derivative spectroscopy (LDS). The present findings proved that the parameters extracted by using the LDS can be applied for studying the low‐freque… Show more

“…In this paper, the 3D periodic amorphous structure of insulating oil with a density of 0.87 g/cm was built for molecular dynamics simulations. According to research [27], [29], the model of cellulose with a density of 1.5 g/cm 3 was built. Considering that methanol molecules are mainly produced by the aging of cellulose insulation, the methanol molecules are initially distributed in the model of cellulose.…”

“…The service life of an oil-immersed transformer is determined by the performance of its paper insulation [1]- [3]. Due to the excellent electrical and mechanical properties, cellulose (crucial material of paper insulation) has been utilized in oilimmersed transformers for more than 100 years.…”

“…Also, the previous derivation is available for obtaining the formula of Y ij corresponding to Figure 6, in which the parameter i∈ (1,2), and j represents the total number of layers, and j∈ (1, n). Equations (27) and (28) describe the general formula of Y ij .…”

“…Due to the traction load's particularity, the traction transformer internal temperature field variation law is different from the power transformer. Thus, insulation aging is also different from that of the power transformer [17], [18]. Based on the equivalent thermal circuit [19], [20] and the parameter optimized equivalent thermal circuit [21]- [23], many scholars have discussed the transformer modeling problem considering load characteristics.…”
