Analysis of Mathematical Communication Ability and Self Regulated Learning Mathematics Student’s of Class Ix SMP Negeri 2 Cilamaya Kulon

Abstract: This study aims to determine mathematical communication ability and self-regulated learning mathematics of IX grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Cilamaya Kulon Karawang on circle material and circle tangents. This research is a qualitative descriptive study, where the object of research is class IX students as many as 35 students. This research was conducted on November 20, 2018. The research technique was in the form of a test of 6 items test questions of mathematical and non-test communication ability in the for… Show more

“…Procedural Knowledge can also explain how to do something or knowledge about the steps that we must refer to in solving problems and mention or justify ways to solve problems (Pujawan et al 2022). Another opinion says that procedural knowledge is knowledge about skills, algorithms, techniques, and special methods in a subject or discipline (Afriliziana & Kartini, 2021)From several expert opinions, we conclude that procedural knowledge is knowledge of the steps that solve problems using special skills, algorithms, techniques and methods in a subject or scientific discipline.…”

“…Procedural knowledge involves understanding rules and routines (Chinnappan & Forrester, 2014). Procedural Knowledge can also explain how to do something or knowledge about the steps that we must refer to in solving problems and mention or justify ways to solve problems (Pujawan et al, 2022) Another opinion says that procedural knowledge is knowledge about skills, algorithms, techniques, and special methods in a subject or discipline (Afriliziana & Kartini, 2021) From several expert opinions, we conclude that procedural knowledge is knowledge of the steps that solve problems using special skills, algorithms, techniques and methods in a subject or scienti c discipline Student-centered teaching thus recognizes the importance of building the conceptual and cultural knowledge that students bring to their learning experiences (Putri et al, 2023), linking learning to students' experiences and accepting and exploring different perspectives and understandings (Geng et al, 2019). At the same time student-centered teaching must pay attention to and correct student misconceptions.…”

“…Greenes and Schulman which states that mathematical communication is: 1) a central force for students in formulating mathematical concepts and strategies; 2) success capital for students towards approaches and solutions in mathematical exploration and investigation; 3) a forum for students to communicate with their friends to obtain information, share thoughts and discoveries, brainstorm, assess and sharpen ideas to convince others [6]. Mathematical communication ability is an ability where students convey something they know through dialogue or interconnected events that occur in the classroom environment, where there is a transfer of delivery of messages containing the mathematical material that students are studying, for example in the form of concepts, formulas, or strategies for solving a problem, how to The transfer of the message can be done verbally or in writing [7]. Meanwhile, according to NCTM communication is an essential part of mathematics and mathematics education.…”
