Analysis of perceptual, psychological, and behavioral factors that affect the academic performance of education university students.

Abstract: The aim of this study was the effect of different perceptual, psychological, and behavioural factors in the academic performance of university students. A total of 172 students (23.5 ± 5.4 years) were recruited. Physical activity patterns, nutritional habits, personality factors, perceptions of difficulty, expected grade, grade average, and academic performance of students were analyzed. No significant differences were found in physical activity levels in relation to academic performance. Significant differenc… Show more

“…Can persistence or perseverance be too high so that it becomes maladaptive in real-life contexts-for instance, inflexibility in cognitive tasks? It is possible, but at least one study did not find evidence of different psychological inflexibility between low vs. high academic performers [10]. The topic of BP and/or depletion is relevant also in present challenges.…”

“…Mask wearing induces perception of mental fatigue [9]. On the other hand, psychological inflexibility was not associated with academic performance [10]. It is an open question as to how BP would be reflected in real-life behaviour or outcomes.…”

“…Future research with larger samples must help understand the psychophysiological stress response in these demanding contexts. In this approach, analyzing the influence of different behavioral factors such as psychological, physical activity, nutrition, and psychological profiles [ 70 , 71 ] may help to obtain a better comprehension of the stress response allowing for multidisciplinary interventions in this kind of population, in particular and in general populations exposed to large stress environments. Having more objective data on the pilot’s psychophysiological workload during flying tasks would be beneficial for the selection process concerning the different types of aircraft and to pilots, as well as for the missions assigned, and it could also be used as one more predictor of their performance [ 53 , 54 ].…”

“…In a distance personalized learning system, resources can be allocated for the individual learning needs of the students [ 23 ]. The Weka tool built by Belan Velasco et al integrates various data mining algorithms into an interactive interface, which includes a variety of data preprocessing, categorization, degradation, regression, clustering, correlation rules, and optimization [ 24 ].…”
