Abstract: Ionic polymer metal composite (IPMC) is an electrically-responsive material made of perfluorinated sulfonic acid (PFSA) ionomers electroless plated with noble metal, such as platinum. Recently, interest in thin IPMC has been rising because of its potential applications in micro-electromechanical systems.
