In recent decades, studies on atmospheric circulations indicate that those patterns have influences on meteorological variables. This paper investigates the comparative statistical analysis of atmospheric oscillations with climatological elements. Based on analysis of the climate data obtained from observed values of meteorological station in Antalya, it was pointed that atmospheric elements such as meteorological variables were associated with atmospheric oscillations such as North Atlantic Oscillation, Arctic Oscillation, Antarctic Oscillation and Pacific-North American pattern. Spearman’s rho and Kendall’s tau statistics were employed to reveal the relations between atmospheric variables and atmospheric oscillations as statistically significant. Both coefficients were compared in interpreting the direction and strength of the relationships. It was seen that Spearman’s rho coefficients presented more suitable values generally.

This study was carried out in Nevşehir province of Turkey with the aim of spatial evaluation of major soil groups, land use capabilities and subclasses by using 1/25.000 scaled digital soil maps. For this purpose, the Geography Information Systems (GIS) software, Arc GIS 10.3.1 was used. As a result of the research; The area covered by brown soils corresponds to 50.68% (304248.49 ha) of the total area. Hydromorphic soils were observed in an area of 7.23 ha. VI. class lands are in the majority in Nevşehir province and the ratio of these lands in the total area is 39.06% (234491.21 ha). II. class lands are 9.48% (56934.79 ha) of the total area and VIII. class lands cover the least area. These lands correspond to 5564.41 ha and 0.93% of the total area. It was determined that the areas with slope and erosion damage and soil insufficiency in the study area correspond to 62.80% of the total area and cover an area of 376990.54 ha. In the study, the spatial distribution maps of the land use capabilities will form the basis for the studies to be carried out for agricultural purposes in Nevşehir province.

In this study, some land and soil properties were spatially evaluated with the help of 1/25.000 scaled digital soil maps belonging to Center of province in the Central Anatolia Region, Turkey. Land use capability, large soil groups, soil depths, erosion, slope and spatial distributions of current land uses were carried out in the research. Arc GIS 10.3.1 software, which is one of the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software, was used for spatial analysis. With a maximum of 262518 in the study area, VI. class lands. Class I cover an area of 247 . In terms of large soil groups, and soils are dominant and the area covered by these soils is 450187 . The least area was found to be reddish brown soils with 124 . It has been determined that the least area in the depth classes is A class (greater than 150 cm) soils. In the study area, it is the soil with the maximum C class (50-90 cm) depth. When the land was examined in terms of slope, it was determined that the land with the highest 3rd degree slope (12-20%) was formed. The research area consists of soil structure that can be exposed to the 2nd degree erosion class at most. When the current land uses are examined, it is the garden area with the least usage area in the region and the area it covers is 3400 . It has been observed that the most dry farming areas are located in the study area. It is thought that the results obtained as a result of the study will be the basis for the agricultural studies to be carried out in Center of province.
