The development of mobile ad-hoc network (MANET) is becoming popular and interesting to research because it has a fast characteristic, cost-effective deployment, able to manage topology change independently, and can be applied to emergency locations such as forest fire detection, military operation, and health monitoring. However, the problems faced by MANET are dynamic network topology changes, limited energy consumption, and without the support of existing infrastructure. In order to overcome dynamic topology changes and to obtain reliable network quality, then routing protocol selection is critical in designing MANET. This study aims to analyze the performance of AODV, DSR, DSDV, and OLSR routing protocols based on the quality of service (QoS). Scenarios based on the number of vertices, packet size, a broad area of simulation, length of simulation, simulation speed, mobility model, and propagation model. The simulation has been done to produce four graphs, each of which describes the PDR, throughput, packet loss, and delay. The simulation results show that OLSR performs better than DSR, AODV, and DSDV in terms PDR, throughput, packet loss, and delay. OLSR average value in PDR by 39.997%, throughput by 417.383 Kbps, packet loss by 60.003%, and delay of 15.52 milliseconds. Intisari-Perkembangan mobile ad-hoc network (MANET) menjadi populer dan menarik untuk diteliti karena memiliki karakteristik yang sifatnya cepat, hemat biaya penyebaran, mampu mengelola perubahan topologi secara mandiri, dan dapat diterapkan pada lokasi darurat seperti deteksi kebakaran hutan, operasi militer, dan pemantauan kesehatan. Permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh MANET adalah perubahan topologi yang dinamis, konsumsi energi yang terbatas, dan tanpa didukung oleh infrastruktur yang ada. Guna mengatasi perubahan topologi yang dinamis dan memperoleh kualitas jaringan yang handal, maka pemilihan protokol routing sangat penting dalam perancangan MANET. Makalah ini bertujuan menganalisis kinerja protokol routing AODV, DSR, DSDV, dan OLSR berdasarkan quality of service (QoS). Skenario dibuat berdasarkan jumlah simpul, ukuran paket, luas area simulasi, lama simulasi, kecepatan simulasi, model mobilitas, dan model propagasi. Simulasi yang telah dilakukan menghasilkan empat buah grafik yang masing-masing menjelaskan tentang packet deliver ratio (PDR), throughput, packet loss, dan delay. Hasil simulasi menggunakan Network Simulator versi dua (NS-2) menunjukkan bahwa OLSR memiliki kinerja yang lebih baik daripada DSR, AODV, dan DSDV dalam hal PDR, throughput, packet loss, dan delay. Nilai rata-rata OLSR pada PDR sebesar 39,997%, throughput sebesar 417,383 Kbps, packet loss sebesar 60,003%, dan delay sebesar 15,52 milidetik.

One of the most wanted wireless networks is Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET). MANET can configure easily without using any facility which one is available at present as an infrastructure oriented wired or wireless network. It is one of the infrastructures less network consist of mobile devices. Individually each and every device in the Mobile ad hoc network will act as a router as well as node which provide the flexibility in the physical topology, optimal routing and data communication.In this paper, A Security improved AODV (SIm AODV) routing protocol is proposed for Ad-hoc networks which typically suits to resolve the security issues like Link Failure, Black Hole Attack, and Malicious Node Intrusion Attack. The proposed SIm AODV algorithm is incorporated and evaluate with OMNetpp 4.3 simulation.

Ad-Hoc On demand Distance (AODV) routing protocol is one of the reactive on-demand routing protocol. It is one of the multicast routing protocol. The basic AODV protocol does not have and mechanism to reduce the end to end time delay. The proposed algorithm Optimal Time Bound (OpTiB)-AODV routing protocol introduce five different way to reduce the end to end time taken. This proposed OpTiB AODV implemented and tested by the use of OmNet++.
