Analysis of Relationship among ISO/IEC 15504, CMMI and K-model

Abstract: A ISO/IEC 15504(Software Process Improvement and Capability determination) and CMMI(Capability Maturity Model Integration) can be considered as representative software process assessment models since assessors assign ratings to indicators and metrics to measure the capability of software processes. In this paper we show the K-model that can easily apply small and medium sized business to process improvement and certification in Korea. This study also compares the practices of K-model with practices of CMMI and… Show more

“…Their results opened a new approach for CMMI. Hwang and Yeom (2009) made extensive analysis on relationship among ISO/IEC 15504 CMMI models. Kelemen et al (2010) published their results on process based unification of process-oriented software quality approaches to qualify the results of CMMI approach in various software organization.…”

“…Many industrial software organizations have made efforts to improve their software process based on ISO/IEC 15504, CMMI. To improve the quality of software and an organization's software development capability and productivity, various approaches have been attempted [1,2]. Process assessment enables to identify the process capability, and based on the resulting assessment we can expect an enhancement of the process by identifying its process strengths, weaknesses and preventing risks if any.…”
