Analysis of Similarities/Dissimilarities of DNA Sequences Based on Segment of Triplets

Abstract

In this paper, we present a new concept of "Segment of Triplets" for DNA sequences first, and then we design a novel method to transform a DNA sequence into a set of maximum segments of triplets based on the concept of "Segment of Triplets." And thereafter, associating with a newly designed measure of similarity, we introduce a novel approach to make similarity similarities/dissimilarities of the DNA sequences, and finally, the applications in similarities/dissimilarities analysis of the complete coding sequences of -globin genes of eleven species illustrate the utilities of our newly proposed method.
