Analysis of Slotted Sectoral Waveguide Arrays With Multilayered Radomes

Abstract: Abstract-A method of moments/Green's function (MoM/GF) technique in the space domain is used for the rigorous and fast analysis of cylindrically conformal slotted sectoral waveguide arrays (SSWGAs) in the presence of multilayered cylindrical dielectric radomes. Representing the slots by fictitious magnetic currents via the equivalence principle, the geometry is divided into two regions and separate GF representations for each region are developed to be used in conjunction with the MoM procedure. Particularly, … Show more

“…Similarly, an SWG mode converter has been reported having a dielectric material to help mode conversion and the results were validated using experimental measurements . The integral equation and Galerkin's method of moment were used for the analysis of SWG arrays with multilayered radomes . Until now, the MM analysis of the SWG mode converter has not been reported.…”

“…Analysis by the method of moments (MoM) requires much less unknowns and turns out to be advantageous for a large-scale array fast design [10][11][12]. Usually, the dyadic Green's function needed for the MoM procedure could be obtained in a closed form benefit from the regular shape of the splitting segments [13][14][15], which also increases the calculation speed.…”

“…A multilayer slotted sectoral waveguide array structure has been investigated in [10] due to its significant and potential application in the design of conformal arrays, reduction of radar cross section (RCS) and efficient use of the cylindrical surface to locate conformal radiating structures. In [11], a hybrid method using the combination of method of moment (MoM) and asymptotic technique has been employed for the calculation of RCS of a dielectric coated cylindrical conformal aperture array.…”

“…Also, since a single conducting interface is considered, the TE and TM modes are decoupled. The case of an axial slot array in a layered sectoral waveguide structure was treated in [10]. However, the mode excitation in the antenna structure was not examined.…”
