Background: Early marriage has long-lasting effects on a person's social, emotional, and physical health. Nurses can raise female awareness of the risks of early pregnancy and marriage. Objective: The study aimed to assess awareness of female nursing students of the risk factors regarding early marriage. Subjects and methods: Design: A descriptive research design was applied in this study. Sample: A purposive sample included 121 female nursing students. Setting: Technical Health Nursing Institute, Fayoum Branch, which affiliated to Beni-Suef Governorate. Tools: Interview questionnaire consisted of four parts: sociodemographic characteristics about the students and parents, female student's knowledge, their reported practices about early marriage, and assessing their own risk factors for problems arising from early marriage. Results:The study finding indicated that 74.4% of female nursing students were 18 years when they married. 58.7% of female nursing students had unsatisfactory level of total knowledge about early marriage and reproductive health. 65.3% of them had inadequate reported practices regarding early marriage. 52.1% of them had high level of risk factors for problems arising from early marriage. Conclusion: More than half of female nursing students had unsatisfactory level of total knowledge about early marriage, inadequate practices regarding early marriage and high level of risk factors for problems arising from early marriage. There was highly statistically significant relation between female nursing students' knowledge, reported practice about early marriage and their sociodemographic characteristics. Recommendation: Applying health education programs among students in different educational settings focusing on early marriage health consequences.

A violência contra mulheres constitui-se em uma das principais formas de violação dos seus direitos humanos, atingindo-as em seus direitos à vida, à saúde e a integridade física. O presente estudo tem como objetivo analisar os efeitos da pandemia de Covid-19 na incidência de atendimentos realizados as mulheres vítimas de violência sexual na maternidade Dona Evangelina Rosa em Teresina-PI. Atualmente a violência sexual trata-se de um fenômeno universal, atingindo mulheres de todas as classes sociais, etnias, religiões e culturas. Ocorre em populações de diferentes níveis de desenvolvimento econômico e social, em espaços públicos e privados e em qualquer etapa da vida da mulher, repercutindo de maneira negativa em diferentes categorias da vida, podendo ser ou não reversível. Diante dos resultados encontrados acima concluiu-se que a violência sexual contra a mulher ainda é um problema de saúde pública que ocorre em grande proporção na sociedade brasileira. Existem muitos casos que são subnotificados, gerando estimativas contraditórias encontradas na literatura. O preenchimento incompleto das notificações dificulta um levantamento de dados mais precisos sobre o perfil das vítimas, porque a violência sexual, é capaz de gerar distúrbios em curto e longo prazo, deixando sequelas profundas, impactando na saúde física, psicológica e social da vítima, considerando que a maioria das mulheres são jovens adultas, no período reprodutivo, em ascensão econômica e social que estão em busca de autossuficiência.

Background Violence against women is one of the most widespread, persistent and detrimental violations of human rights in today’s world, which has not been reported in most cases due to impunity, silence, stigma and shame, even in the age of social communication. Domestic violence against women harms individuals, families, and society. The objective of this study was to investigate the prevalence and experiences of domestic violence against women in Semnan. Methods This study was conducted as mixed research (cross-sectional descriptive and phenomenological qualitative methods) to investigate domestic violence against women, and some related factors (quantitative) and experiences of such violence (qualitative) simultaneously in Semnan. In quantitative study, cluster sampling was conducted based on the areas covered by health centers from married women living in Semnan since March 2021 to March 2022 using Domestic Violence Questionnaire. Then, the obtained data were analyzed by descriptive and inferential statistics. In qualitative study by phenomenological approach and purposive sampling until data saturation, 9 women were selected who had referred to the counseling units of Semnan health centers due to domestic violence, since March 2021 to March 2022 and in-depth and semi-structured interviews were conducted. The conducted interviews were analyzed using Colaizzi’s 7-step method. Results In qualitative study, seven themes were found including “Facilitators”, “Role failure”, “Repressors”, “Efforts to preserve the family”, “Inappropriate solving of family conflicts”, “Consequences”, and “Inefficient supportive systems”. In quantitative study, the variables of age, age difference and number of years of marriage had a positive and significant relationship, and the variable of the number of children had a negative and significant relationship with the total score and all fields of the questionnaire (p < 0.05). Also, increasing the level of female education and income both independently showed a significant relationship with increasing the score of violence. Conclusions Some of the variables of violence against women are known and the need for prevention and plans to take action before their occurrence is well felt. Also, supportive mechanisms with objective and taboo-breaking results should be implemented to minimize harm to women, and their children and families seriously.
