Analysis of the Effect of Parameters on Fracture Toughness of Hemp Fiber Reinforced Hybrid Composites Using the ANOVA Method

Abstract: In today's world, global warming has become a concern. To overcome this, we need to reduce the carbon footprints caused by the production of materials. Much of the time, this is equivalent to the same amount of CO2 emissions per tonne of production. This is a serious concern and needs to be overcome by identifying alternative materials to have as minimal a carbon footprint as possible. In this context, hemp fiber is by far the best natural fiber when compared to its peers. As per the survey conducted by the No… Show more

“…Madhusudhana H.K et al [1] Using the Taguchi approach, the fracture toughness behavior of HRHC is examined as a result of the variables, such as a change in the ratio of epoxy resin and fillers like banana, sawdust, and powdered coconut shell. The current research will develop replacement materials for consumer product packaging or light-duty automotive uses.…”

“…The effect of bio‐fibers and bio‐particles on fracture toughness and fracture behavior was investigated by Gope et al 30,31 Rao and Gope 32 studied the effect of walnut particles and coconut fiber‐reinforced hybrid biocomposite on fracture toughness. The effects of hemp fiber, banana fiber, coconut shell powder, and sawdust on fracture toughness were studied by Madhusudhana et al 33 using the Taguchi method.…”

“…Jute fiber from the species Corchorus capsularis is characterized by its low weight and relatively good mechanical resistance and can naturally reach large diameters and lengths, making it an attractive option under this specific issue for structural applications [ 14 , 15 , 16 , 17 ]. The physical and mechanical properties of jute fiber found in the works of Tanguy et al [ 18 ], Awais et al [ 19 ], Ribeiro et al [ 20 ], Ganesan et al [ 21 ], Ahamed et al [ 22 ], and Khalid et al [ 23 ] are shown in Table 1 .…”
