Analysis of the Foam Generated Using Surfactant Sodium Lauryl Sulfate

Abstract: The performance evaluation of a sodium lauryl sulfate to qualify as a foaming agent is presented in this paper. When new surfactants are used a systematic study of production parameters on the foam characteristics needs to be undertaken unlike proprietary foaming agents and foam generator for which manufacturer has predefined the parameters. The relative influence of the foam parameters and optimization of factors were carried out through a systematic experiment design. The foam production parameters namely fo… Show more

“…This work proposed a new route of bentonite sodium intercalation under low-temperature and restricted time preparation to produce an adsorbent to SLS waste. Removal of SLS waste is demanding due to the high volume of waste disposed of, triggering several disadvantages: life health, water quality, and increasing undesirable foam [20,21]. The economic discovery of adsorbent material applied in SLS waste treatment was established as a bright solution [22].…”

“…Johnson & Johnson baby shampoo contains sodium laureth sulfate, both a popular foaming agent and surfactant. 13 However, Medline advertises the presence of surfactants in all of their scrub preparations, including PVP prep. 14 Surfactants are amphiphilic molecules that have hydrophobic and hydrophilic parts.…”
