Analysis of the forecast of shrimp exports in Ecuador from the year 2019

Abstract

In this work, we proceeded to estimate the shrimp export demand in Ecuador for the year 2019. The shrimp sector is one of the most dynamic within the country's economy, in recent years it has increased its contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). The objective of this work is to determine exports of Ecuadorian shrimp taking into account the preponderant factors that have caused this sector to be affected both positively and negatively. It was carried out through a non-experimental, descriptive design, where statistical information from the shrimp sector was collected. The Media Difference Method was used. The result obtained indicates that by 2024 there will be a demand of around 1,925 million pounds of white shrimp, in addition to exports, the country will have income by 2024 of about 4,572 million US dollars. This will correspond to the increase in the market and therefore the consequent demand for the product for human consumption in order to meet the needs and better guarantee food security, this forecast will determine the growth of shrimp farms and the potential demand of the marketing destinations.
