Analysis of the Influence of Drawing Speed on the Amount of Retained Austenite in TRIP Steel Wires

Abstract: The specific properties of TRIP steel can be obtained by the occurring the effect of additional plasticity during transformation of metastable retained austenite into martensite caused by plastic deformation process. Research carried out for highly alloyed austenitic steels with TRIP effect proved the influence of strain intensity, chemical composition and deformation temperature on efficiency marteniste transformation. In the work research concerned with the influence change of drawing speed on retained auste… Show more

“…The film-like retained austenite with a nanometer size in Q&FP steel is incorporated within martensite lath (Figure 7c). Despite most metastable austenite transforming progressively into martensite during tension [93,94], the remaining austenite with a high C content is relatively stable (Figure 7d). The strain-induced martensitic transformation can significantly enhance the work hardening and ductility of the Q&FP steel, as compared to the MART-Si and MART steels with the same or lower stress levels (Figure 7e).…”

“…Since 2005, a team of scientists from the Częstochowa University of Technology has been the first in the world to undertake research on using TRIP steel for wires and wire products. Basic research carried out under two research projects made it possible to solve the assumed research problems and resulted in many publications [24][25][26][27][28][29]. As part of another research project entitled "Development of an innovative technology and launching the production of steel wire rod with a carbon content of 0.1-0.4% C with a TRIP effect and implementation of the technology of drawing new generation of steel TRIP wires for products manufactured in the drawing industry and metal products", the technology of obtaining wire rods with TRIP structures was developed.…”
