Analysis of the Structural Topology of the Interprovincial Bus Seats

Abstract

The study of mechanical engineering through computational technological advances allows having advantages in the design of prototypes of bus seats and other elements that make up the structure of the seats for interprovincial buses and thereby guarantees passengers’ safety and buses’ overall structural resistance. To avoid traffic accidents, it is vital to reduce the weight of the seats for saving fuel and improving the performance of the bus. Using the finite element method with the ANSYS Research software, it is proposed to optimize certain elements that make up the structure of the interprovincial bus seats and to comply with the R80 CEPE/UN regulation wherein the structural resistance of the seats must be evaluated according to the forces recommended by the regulation – critical forces, displacements, and the amount of absorbed energy. Under such conditions, various structural elements are optimized to simulate the seat again and validate the resistance through regulations recommended for this type of study.

 Resumen
 El estudio de la ingeniería mecánica a través del avance tecnológico computacional permitió tener ventajas en el diseño de prototipos de autobuses, asientos y demás elementos que conforman la estructura de los asientos para servicio interprovincial y de esta forma se garantizó la seguridad de los pasajeros y resistencia estructural en caso de sufrir un accidente de tránsito, además fue importante reducir el peso de los asientos para ahorrar combustible y se mejoró el rendimiento del autobús por esta razón se utilizó el método de los elementos finitos con la aplicación del software ANSYS Research se propuso optimizar ciertos elementos que conforman la estructura del asiento interprovincial que debe cumplir con el reglamento R80 CEPE/ONU donde se evaluó la resistencia estructural de los asientos de acuerdo a las fuerzas recomendadas en la normativa y se analizaron esfuerzos críticos, desplazamientos, cantidad de energía absorbida, bajo estas condiciones se optimizaron varios elementos estructurales que fueron simulados es decir se validó la resistencia mecánica del asiento interprovincial mediante normativa recomendada para este tipo de estudios.
