Analysis of the Torque Loss of High-Speed Transmission Mechanism with a Stacked Roller Set

Abstract: Two-dimensional pumps have broad application prospects in aerospace. However, the performance of the pump is degraded because of the clearance problem of the current 2D transmission mechanism. In order to eliminate the clearance between the cam rail and the rollers, a high-speed transmission mechanism with a stacked roller set is proposed. The stacked roller set is compressed by the load pressure. The axial inertia force is balanced when the transmission mechanism works at high speed, via the equal acceleratio… Show more

“…The spatial angle formed by the contact force between the taper roller and the guide rail and the axial and circumferential directions of the 2D pump is very important for the calculation of the mechanical equation, so it is necessary to firstly establish the spatial angle relationship of the roller-guide-rail mechanism [25]. Since the taper roller is affected by the guide rail in the actual working process, its posture will change slightly.…”

“…For the linear velocity linearly distributed along the radial direction, the average speed of the vortex flow v rave1 is used to figure out the valid Reynolds number. The Prandtl number and convective heat transfer coefficient of the vortex flow are described in Relations ( 15) and (16).…”

“…To counter the effect of the inertial force of the piston motion component of the pump, two types of 2D pumps with inertia force balancing structures have been proposed [10][11][12]. Additionally, to increase the working pressure of the pump, a 2D pump with stacked rollers as driving elements has been put forward [13,14]. To reduce the flow ripple of the pump, series and parallel structures of the two pump cores have also been suggested [15,16].…”
