The southeast coast of China is frequently affected by super typhoons (STs) and squall lines (SLs), generally, STs are intense long-duration convective activities and SLs are intense short-duration convective storms (Ming et al, 2014;Wang et al, 2022). Both are generally accompanied by strong winds, which creates challenges in designing wind-resistant structures, especially slender structures such as long-span bridges and high-rise buildings (Dai et al, 2021;Li et al, 2017;Zhu et al, 2018). However, the global increase in the intensity of tropical cyclones (TCs) and strong-convection gales, slower decay of landfalling TCs, and the stronger short-duration convection activities such as SLs under climate variability further intensify the vulnerability of coastal regions to strong wind-induced disasters (Emanuel, 2005;Li & Chakraborty, 2020).
