Analysis on the influence law of traction speed on the cutting performance of coal containing hard concretion

Abstract: Due to the great differences in mechanical properties between hard concretion and coal, the shearer drum cutting coal and rock containing hard concretion will inevitably lead to a series of problems, such as severe load impact, increased cutting specific energy consumption and low coal loading efficiency. Taking the cutting part of a thin coal seam shearer in service in the target mining area as the prototype, the mechanical models of shearer drum and rocker arm are established by using UG, and the discrete el… Show more

“…Because coal is in a massive structural state before cutting, and fragmentation occurs during the cutting process, some bonds must exist between the coal particles. The Hertz-Mindlin model with bonding was used to model the contact between coal particles in this study [11,12]. The model for the bonding between two standard spherical particles, a and b, with particle radii R a and R b , respectively, is shown in Figure 4.…”

“…Te contact model between the coal and the cutting head was the Hertz-Mindlin (no-slip) contact model, with the contact parameters listed in Table 5 [15]. Te contact model between coal particles is the Hertz-Mindlin model with bonding [16]. Te particle adhesion parameters are listed in Table 6 [17].…”

“…The results showed that the oil cylinder vibration amplitude of the front rocker arm reached 2.3 mm, while the rear rocker arm and middle rocker arm were 1.8 mm and 1.4 mm, respectively. With the objective functions of the coal loading rate, cutting ratio energy consumption and cutting load, Liu et al established an optimization model for the traction speed of the shearer, providing a theoretical reference for achieving collaborative control between the cutting units and the traction units [ 11 ]. Based on friction and wear tests, Jaskowiec et al [ 12 ] analyzed the adhesive wear, three body wear and fatigue wear mechanisms of the hauling wheel and the rail, and emphasized that the wear rate in the rail bending area is 2.5 times higher than that in the straight area.…”
