Abstract:Magnetoactive elastomers (MAE) are capable of large deformation, shape programming, and moderately large actuation forces when driven by an external magnetic field. These capabilities enable applications such as soft grippers, biomedical devices, and actuators. To facilitate complex shape deformation and enhanced range of motion, a unimorph can be designed with varying geometries, behave spatially varying multi-material properties, and be actuated with a non-uniform external magnetic field. To predict actuati… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
