Analytical Study of Environmental Impacts and Their Effects on Groundwater Hydrology

Abstract: The hydrology of the groundwater is not just the science of subsurface water but also encompasses the rock strata and structure matrix in which it is contained. It also deals with the natural and man-made activities that affect the quality and quantity of subsurface water and physiology, geology, and minerology of the rock structure as well as the effects of the environment, climate, and other physical and natural forces trying to alter the subsurface water source in either way. Strategies for management and u… Show more

“…Absorption and liberation of the heat accumulated on the panels disturb the thermal profile and can harm the flora and fauna of the location. Water cooling consumes considerable water taken from nearby reservoirs or from underground [41]. Usually, the treatment of water becomes necessary in order to protect panels from chemical effects such as corrosion and deposits.…”

“…Water is an important part of everyday life in the animal and human. More than 70% of the earth's surface is water, yet we can use only 1% of water due to the salinity (97% of the total water) of nature (Jha et al, 2007;Das et al, 2019).According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), about 30% of liquid freshwater sources are ground water that accumulates in sub-surface geological formations of Earth's crust (Fitts, 2002;Arulbalaji et al, 2019).As groundwater is an important natural resource for domestic, agricultural and industrial use, its demand is increasing day by day due to population growth, urbanization, improved irrigation systems and industrial expansion etc (Jha et al, 2007;Manap et al, 2012;Celik, 2019;Andualem and Demeke, 2019;Javaid et al, 2020).Therefore, groundwater is a primary problem in monsoonal countries like India due to hasty depletion of water (Maity and Mandal, 2019; Kumar et al, 2020).Groundwater extraction has also become an essential element of water management and planning, especially in rural areas (Das and Pardeshi, 2018;Mallick et al, 2019).…”

“…The potential of groundwater anywhere is the result of reciprocity principles between hydrology, geology, biological factors, etc (Das, 2019).The natural recharge, accumulation, potentiality and ow of groundwater in an area is driven by a variety of geo-environmental factors such as lithology/geology, geomorphology, lineament features or density, soil, slope, drainage, rainfall, land use/land cover (LULC) (Al-Adamat et al, 2003;Kumaret al, 2016;Shekhar et al, 2017;Sa Costa, 2019;Javaid et al, 2020).The natural recharge of groundwater is in uenced by the interrelationship between these factors.…”

“…However, it is threatened by over-exploitation and pollution (Carrard et al, 2019). Groundwater quality is influenced by geogenic and anthropogenic processes (Javaid et al, 2020). It is naturally found in association with geologic minerals containing dissolved salts (Chacha et al, 2018).…”
