“…7 In our department, if tracheal intubation is performed for keratoplasty and PPV, the current standard includes the continuous application of the nondepolarizing muscle relaxant mivacurium (throughout the operation) to establish an adductor pollicis train-of-four (TOF) count between 0 and 1. 8 Due to its shortterm action, mivacurium provides flexible control over the neuromuscular block (NMB) combined with short spontaneous recovery and is therefore particularly suitable for continuous i.v. application, although prolonged action may be observed in patients suffering from pseudocholinesterase deficiency.…”
