Abstract: Extended anterior transpetrosal approach (ATPA) includes drilling the petrous bone to achieve maximal exposure of the petroclival region. Injuring of surrounding neurovascular structures, such as the internal carotid artery (ICA), during the procedure may result in severe complications.
